All the praises is for Allah the Lord of the Worlds and peace and blessings be upon His Chosen Messenger Muhammad and upon his family and his companions all of them.

Subhanallah…a little over 6 days ago a Saudi National, Fahd al-Qabaa, arrived in Kuwait, entered the oldest Shi’ite Husainiyah and blew himself up killing 27 and wounding countless others. Of course, ISIS, applauded this action as being one that it had up its sleeve for quite sometime…but looking at this occurrence, there are two disturbing things I want you to be aware of:

a. Kuwait has been one of the biggest humanitarian donors to Syrian refugees through the United Nations. How do you think this action will now affect this humanitarian effort? This isn’t the first time this happens, it seems ISIS targets any individual or country that supports the Syrian people, refugees and those in need. In’na lil’laahi wa in’na e’laihi ra’jioon!

b. The father of Fahd al-Qabaa was interviewed after the bombing. The father who was very emotional, said: “I met my son 4 days before this suicide bombing. He told me that he wanted to perform I’tikaaf (in one of the local Masjid). He packed his bag and the next I saw of him was on the screen of my TV! My son was never one to fight or take part in such activities. I am shocked as to how he adopted this deviant ideology! My son was always very kind, well-mannered and soft hearted with his mother and his siblings. MAY ALLAH NEVER GIVE SUCCESS TO THOSE WHO DEVIATED MY SON. MAY ALLAH UNCOVER THESE PEOPLE FOR ALL TO SEE.” Ameen

Now, read this statement: “They then left their homes secretively and quietly so that no one could prevent them from gathering together to do what they had planned. They left so secretively that their fathers, mothers, uncles and aunts and all their relatives never realized that they had gone! These young individuals, in their ignorance and ill understanding, held firmly to what they were planning to do. They believed what they were doing was truly pleasing to Allah, when in fact it was actually one of the gravest of all sins. This sin was beautified to them by Iblis. We ask Allah to protect us, Indeed He has the power to do so. Some families were able to save their children before they headed out and joined this destructive movement; and among these saved youth were those who maintained and continued on the straight path and there were others who went out and joined the Khawarij, thus bringing upon themselves severe loss.”

It would seem as though it was said to comment on the case of Fahd al-Qabaa and those like him…when in fact this statement was made by Imam Ibn Kathir, may Allah have mercy on him, over 700 years ago in his book al-Bidayah wan-Nihayah. He was describing the first Khawarij who gathered at Nahrawan to fight Ali, may Allah be pleased with him!

No doubt a striking similarity!

May Allah protect us from such deviation and rid the Muslims of those who deviate and spread deviation. Ameen!
