JAMA’ATUL MUSLIMEEN – UNITY UNDER ONE IMAM

Hudhaifah narrated that people used to ask the Prophet (sallahu wa alayhi wa salam ) about the good and the bad in order not to face that evil, he asked
“we used to be in jahiliyyah, in evil, and after that we are in good, will there be after that any evil?” he (sallahu wa alayhi wa salam) said: “yes”, “and after that will there be good?” he (sallahu wa alayhi wa salam) said “yes and it will have a defection”, he asked, “what is the defection?” Muhammad (sallahu wa alayhi wa salam) said: “people will guide others opposite to my guidance. You know some of what they say, and you reject some.” he asked, “and after that will there be evil?” he (sallahu wa alyhi wa salam) said “yes, There are callers to the hellfire, whoever responds to them are people of hellfire” he said, “describe them to us,” he (sallam alaykum ) said, “they are from our people, and they speak our tongues,” he asked, “what should I do if I face that?” he (sallahu wa alyhi wa salam) said, “be with the Jama’atul muslimeen under one imam” he asked, “and if there is no Jama’ah?” he (saw) said, “do not be with the deviants, even if you bite the trunk of the tree until you pass away.” [Muslim 1847, Bukhari 6557]

Jama’ah here is clear as meaning jama’atul Muslimeen, the Muslim Ummah under one Leader.
