How To Know When A Person Is Miskeen in Knowledge!

How do you know when a person is Miskeen when it comes to Islamic knowledge? Whatever they study (Islamic knowledge) it doesn’t benefit them in their speech and action. One thing I dislike about a personality of a person is when they use the word “Shaykh” to insult a person.

يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَا يَسْخَرْ قَوْمٌ مِّن قَوْمٍ عَسَىٰ أَن يَكُونُوا خَيْرًا مِّنْهُمْ

The next type of personality I dislike is the person who ascribes what he knows to personalities that he knows but doesn’t possess that knowledge within himself, and rides on their coats to elevate himself and boast about who he knows and not what knowledge he possesses. When in reality he is نقص في نفسه deficient within himself. Who you know doesn’t elevate you in knowledge, it’s what you know and act on.

The next type of personality I detest which is common in our circles the two-faced person, and he goes back and forth with two different faces, he’s with one group of people with a particular face and he’s with another group with a different face, and when these groups are in odds with each other he’s within each group with these different faces, not reconciling the groups, due to the lack of his personality and low self-esteem wanting to fit in and the lack of knowledge. Due to wanting to ride on the coats of its different personalities so he can boast he knows so and so.

One of the major problems and causes of fitnah between Muslims is the person that is described here that goes between people with these different faces. Cause great harm at the end of the day.

Ammar reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Whoever carries two faces in the world, he will have two tongues of fire on the Day of Resurrection.”

Grade: Sahih (authentic) according to Al-Albani

Next type of personality I dislike those who ascribe the truth to personalities, and fame but not to the book of Allah and the Sunnah of the prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم because they don’t process that knowledge within themself. And don’t comprehend how it is established جهل في نفسه و المقلد a person who is ignorant and a blind follower but attaches themselves to personalities to make themselves look knowledgeable like a متعالم a charlatan.

Then the person who wants everyone to blindly ascribe to their group based on his blind faith in these personalities sounds like a modern-day Christian “walk by faith not by sight” meaning blind follow but not by evidence and proofs but an admission to one emotional attachment, or inspiration.

This is why we don’t bind the truth to personalities and why many scholars disliked blind following, why blind followers are not from the People of Knowledge, and why acquiring knowledge is a must.

Now to imagine a person with all these bad traits mentioned within himself.
