Reflection on Seeking Knowledge of Islamic Sciences starting with Arabic

Some reflection on an Islamic Science that’s crucial for Muslims to learn and mandatory for anyone who wants to study any other Islamic Sciences in a scholarly way, is first the Arabic Language.

The first books that I ever read on Arabic language are two books back in 2000, Shaykh Dr. Bilal Phillips’ book on Arabic Grammar and a couple from the Warithdeen Muhammad’s community on Arabic grammar. The couple’s book on Arabic grammar as I look back was a more close to Arabic literature and language books on Arabic language. I forgot the title of the book but was like a text book with either a yellow or orange cover.

These two books impact my first experience and view as my first three years being a Muslim on the Arabic language dispite that it will not teach you to master Arabic was a very good elementary introduction for an English speaker.

After years traveling to learn Islam and it’s sciences the proper way through the Arabic language there is no substitute for it.

Arabic language is part of the Islamic sciences ( all them are connected to each other) and all other sciences in Islam; subjects such as Aqeedah, Tafseer, Usool Tafseer, Quran and it’s difference sciences ( which Tafseer, also Tafseer on Arabic language of the Quran and words in Quran, also Tajweed, is part of plus more) Hadeeth and science of Hadeeth, Arabic language and it’s sciences and various subjects are all taught and past down from generation in the Arabic language because the Quran was revealed in the Arabic language and no other languages can be used as it’s substitute. The Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah sallalahu wa alayhi wa Salam was recorded and remember and understood in the Arabic language and one can not fully understand it except in Arabic, it was the language of the prophet sallallahu wa alayhi wa Salam and the Book that was revealed to him was in Arabic.

These two can’t be preserved except in it’s original language which is Arabic.

There are those Muslims who profess their love for Islam and the Quran and the Sunnah but refuse to learn Arabic. There are those in the West who are Muslim who want to learn other Islamic Sciences save Arabic. This is not possible you can’t fully understand Islamic Subjects without Arabic , because it’s the foundation of all starting with the Quran. Every Islamic Subject intro from Hadeeth, Uloom Quran, Aqeedah, Usool Fiqh all talk about the importance of the Arabic language and how one can’t master these subjects unless one fully understand and some cases master the Arabic language.
