Q & A Seeking Knowledge from Ahul Bidah and Reading the Books of Bidah, by Shaykh Salih Al Fawzan

Question: is it permissible to seek knowledge from the people of Bidah (innovation in the relgion of Islam) and read their books if there is not present books from the Ahulu Sunnah (the authentic scholars on Quran and Sunnah) present in my country?

Answer: all the praise is for Allah, Ahulu Sunnah (the authentic scholars of Quran and Sunnah) they are present and their books are present. But it’s necessary for you to seek it out (the scholars and authentic knowledge) and you to pay close attention (safeguard your Deen) and you do not depend upon the people of Bidah (people of innovation in the religion) nor the books of the innovator. Nor do you depend on those books of the innovator (in the Relgion of Islam/people of Bidah) because it’s like the killing poisonous food (means their books and materials are dangerous and will misguide you).
