This is a reminder for myself and others who are Students of Knowledge of every level who are living in areas that are quarantine due to Coronavirus such as New York. Ramadaan is right around the corner and there are going to be questions from the laymen Muslims fasting questions related to Coronavirus. We must be prepared to deal with these questions before Ramadaan comes.

There is going to be a lot of false information spreading, and also a lot of doubts about should people fast. There will be a lot of questions and misinformation about when to start Ramadan, confusion about Salah Tawareeh due to masjids being closed in these quarantine areas.

There will be a lot of anger and wishful thinking Muslims who give wrong information that would put peoples and Muslims and family members at risk.

Then we have those Khateebs and callers who are not qualified Islamicly or medically giving wrong information base on their whims mix with a conspiracy theorists angle, and wishful thinking.

There will be eager Islamic Organizations who are in areas the local government lockdown, looking for a way to gather to collect that Ramdaaan ‘s donation money and put our community at risk due to greed for money and living off the wealth of the Muslims.

There will be good-hearted Muslims who love the deen speaking from emotions but not from the Shariah point of view because they do not understand it. There will be zealot Muslims that will be convinced from the hight of their zeal but it’s not companied with correct knowledge.

There will be copy and paste masters at work but they do not know this word نصوص او نص او متن. There will be Muslims who live in areas where there is no lockdown or no Coronavirus illness, giving rules verdicts to people who live in areas with Coronavirus clusters that are wrong and harmful to that mass. They will say

” but the people here gather”.

Not knowing that area was not locked down.

There will be the anti-Gov group saying put your trust in Allah and forget what the government says. When these fools never understood Yusef ibn Yaqoob the Nabi worked with a non-Muslims government. Rather yet he interpreted the King’s dream and due to that he was freed and he was given a position in that non-Muslim government to assist everyone and it was during a time of crisis.

Then we will have the fearful Muslims having doubts about the truth.

Then there will be the same questions we see before and when Ramadaan is in about medical conditions, questions about what breaks the fast etc. On top of those questions there will be those who ask about Coronavirus patients and fasting. Those who want to meet up with other Muslims and pray in their homes together while they have elderly and people at home with chronic illness. Those who have to payout Kafaraa for not fasting, but do not have the means to feed the hungry due to the lockdown.

There will be a lot of Muslims who are ignorant never studied Islam with qualified scholars and do not have access to scholars, they will be giving their own made-up fatwa. This will cause greater harm. It would be wise now to prepare and to reach out.
