Narrated by Abu Hurairah that the Prophet sallahu wa alayhi wa salam said: the first thing the slave reckoning will be on the day of Judgement from his deeds his Fard Salah. If it is correct for indeed he will be successful and succeed. If his Salah is corrupt for indeed he is unsuccessful and as a loser. So if anything is diminished from the Fard Salah, Allah said the Blessed and the Most High it would be looked at whether for my slave from his voluntary Salah and it will be taken from that and complete what is diminished from the Fard Salah. Then the remaining of his deeds will be dealt with in that manner. Hadeeth Saheeh.

 

Narrated by Zaid bin Thabit that the Prophet sallahu wa alayhi wa salam said: upon you is the voluntary salah in your houses. That the best voluntary Salah for the individual in his house except for the Fard Salah.  Bukhari & Muslim

 

The Voluntary Salah the Prophet Perform Consistently:

Narrated by Abdullahi bin Shaqeeq, he said: I asked Aisha about the Salah of the Messenger of Allah sallahu wa alayhi wa salam, related to his voluntary Salah. So she said he prayed in my house before Dhur Prayer four rakaat, then he would leave to pray with the people (in the congregation ), then he enters (the home) and prays two rakaats. He would pray with the people (in the congregation) for al Magrib Salah, then he would enter (the home) and pray two rakaats and he would pray with the people al Ishaa Salah and he would enter my home and pray two rakaats. He would pray at night nine rakaaats within the rakaats the Witr Salah. He would pray at night long-standing and at night long sitting. He would recite while he was standing bowed in ruku and prostrate while he was standing.  If he reciting while he sitting he bowed in ruku and prostate. If Fajr appeared he would pray two rakaat.  Saheeh Muslim

The Voluntary Salah the Prophet Perfrom no Formal Consistently:

Two Rakaats before Asr and Magrib and Isha.

Narrated by Abdullah bin Mugfal that the Prophet sallahu wa alayhi wa salam said: between the two Adhans (Adhan and Iqaamah) Salah (voluntary two rakaats), between the two Adhans Salah. then he said the third time for he who wishes (to pray it voluntary). Hadeeth agreed upon

 

Narrated by Ali he said the Messenger of Allah sallahu wa alayhi wa salam he prayed before Asr Salah four rakaat, and he separates between them with Tasleem upon the close angels and him who from them from the Muslims and Believers (meaning prayed it in the sets of two and salam out and another two). Hadeeth Hasan

Narrated by ibn Umar about the Prophet sallahu wa alayhi wa salam he said: may Allah have mercy on the person who prayed before Dhur Fard Salah four Rakaat. Hadeeth from Saheeh Sunnah Tirmhdi.
