Question:

A habit came in our country, the slaughter (of animal)  in the seasons like the middle of month of Shaban, and the first of Ramadan, and the 27th of month of Rajab. Is it permissible to eat this meat of the slaughter animals?

Answer:

Concerning the slaughtering of animals in the middle of Shabaan, or the night of the 27th of Rajab, this is bidah (innovation in the religion), and there is no base for it. It is obliged not to do it, nor is it permissible to do it, nor is it permissible to eat from it. For it is without proofs ( the sacrifice in these seasons ) because it (slaughter meat etc) eating from bidah.

Concerning its being of it’s getting close to Ramadan in slaughtering (animals)  and the giving of charity with it slaughter meat for Ramadan, the blessed month legislated in it widely in spending and charity for the needy (the poor people). So if he slaughters that in Ramadan or in the 10th of Dhu Hijrah or other than that, from these times and give charity for all of this is good.

Concerning to signified a night in the middle of Shabaan or night 27 the from Rajab, just as some of the people do by gatherings in this night, for this has no base, rather it is bidah.

Original source of Fatwaa
