Taking the Night of 27 of Rajab to Celebrate Israa wa Miraj is a Bidah by Shaykh Salih al Fawzan

The celebration of the night of Israa wa Miraj (The Miraculous Night Journey from Makka to Jerusalem and then an ascension to the heavens) on the 27 of Rajab there nothing from our Deen-related to this.

It is only a new innovated Bidah. First to determine this particular night (its date) is without proof ( from Quran and Sunnah). Second, if it is established that this is the night on that date is the Israa wa Miraj that Allah did not legislate for us that we celebrate it.

It is not established fixing a particular night for the event of Israa wa Miraj (The Miraculous Night Journey from Makka to Jerusalem and then an ascension to the heavens).

It is not established that it is on the night of the 27 or any other night (of Rajab). If there is for us a benefit in determining a particular night  that which took place on this night for Allah and His Messenger would explain it (the importance of its date).

So when there has not come a clear explaining proof of this date of the night in the Quran and Sunnah (to single out this night on this date or any dates), it indicated that we are not from those who are obligated by us searching for this night (of Israa wa Miraj) and we are celebrating it.

Translated by Abul Baraa Muhammad Amreeki
