Small Talk @ Rockaway Islamic Center ‘What is a Muslim, Mu’min, and Muhsin’. Base on a Fatwaa of Shaykh Bin Baz

Some of the descriptions of the Muhsineen (Good Doers)

  • Allah states in the Quran: And whosoever submits his face (himself) to Allah, while he is a muhsin (good-doer i.e. performs good deeds totally for Allah’s sake without any show off or to gain praise or fame and does them in accordance with the Sunnah of Allah’s Messenger Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم), then he has grasped the most trustworthy handhold [La ilaha illallah (none has the right to be worshipped but Allah)]. And to Allah return all matters for decision.(سورة لقمان, Luqman, Chapter #31, Verse #22)
  • That do all that which is prescribed by Allah and His Messenger, such as the Salah, and that encompasses in the Deen, and overlaps outside the five pillars of Islam .
  • They seek forgiveness of their errors/sins
  • They stand and pray at night
  • Free from all type of shirk
  • Free from Bidah (innovations in the religion) and things that are astray in the religion
  • Worshiping Allah as if you can see Him even though you can not see Him, he knows that Allah sees him.
  • Spends in the cause of Allah and do not fear poverty
  • Prefer the life in the next over the life of this world
