The difference between التحريف at-Tahreef and التعطيل at-Ta’teel in Aqeedah related to the names and attributes of Allah and those who distort and deny their meaning, by Shaykh Salih al Fawzan.

التحريف: (Tahreef) it is to negate the correct meaning with the text (the Quran and Sunnah) indicated, and to alter it with another meaning that is not correct.

التعطيل: (Ta’teel)it is to negate the correct meaning without altering with another meaning like the actions of alMufuwudah ( 1. are from those groups who alter or change or deny the meaning of Allah names and attributes).

This from al-Aqeedah al-Wasatiyah explained by Shaykh Salih al Fawzan.

  1. al-Mufuwudah المفوضة denies the meanings names/attributes related to Iman belief in Allah, who are from people of ignorance.المفوضة:سلكت مسلك الإيمان باللفظ دون المعنى و هؤلاء هم المفوضة الذين هم أهل التجهيل
