“Forbidden upon the Fire (of Hell) all straightforward, soft, close (to the people) and easy going.”

From the Book ‘Rawdah al-Uqalaa’a” The Garden of  Intellects (Understandings) by Ibn Hibaan.

“Forbidden upon the Fire (of Hell) all straightforward, soft, close (to the people) and easy going.”  Hadeeth number 36.

Hadeeth is مرفوع Marfoo’a (a narration from the Prophet sallahu wa alayhi wa salam) informed us Ahmed son of al Huseen son of Abdul Jabaar in Bagdaad. He related to us  Yahya son of Ma’een, related to us Abdah son of Sulayman, from Hishaam son of A’uwah, from Musa son  of A’uqbah, from Abdullah son of Umar alAzdee, from Ibn Masood about the Messenger of Allah sallahu wa alyhi wa salam said:

” يَحْرُمُ عَلَى الَّنارِ كُلُّ هَيِّنٍ لَيِّنٍ قَرِيبٍ سَهْلٍ “

“Forbidden upon the Fire (of Hell) all straightforward, soft, close (to people) and easy going.”1

Abu Hatim may Allah be pleased with him said: It is an obligation upon  the one who has an intellect that he shows love towards the people, accompanied by the necessary good manners. Along with abandoning bad manners, because good manners dissolve the mistakes (of a person) just as the sun dissolve (melts) ice.

Indeed, the bad manner it corrupts the deed just as vinegar corrupts honey. Perhaps there be with a man abundance of all pious manners and a bad manner. So the bad manner corrupts the pious manners all of it.

Al-Baghdadi recited to me a nasheed:

خالق الناس بخلق حسن لا تكن كلبا على الناس يهر والقهم منك ببشر ثم صن عنهم عرضك عَن كل قذر

Behave well with the people with good manners

do not be like a dog towards the people snarling

 the distastefulness from you towards the people

then coming from them they preserved your honor from all type of filth.

 “حرم على النار كل هين ، لين ، سهل ، قريب من الناس”

الراوي: أبو هريرة و ابن مسعود المحدث: الألباني – المصدر: صحيح الجامع – الصفحة أو الرقم: 3135

خلاصة حكم المحدث: صحيح

“Forbidden upon the (Hell) Fire all straightforward, soft, easy going, and (people who’re) close to the people.”

Narrated by Abu Hurayrah and Ibn Masood, al Muhadith: al-Albaane- its resource: Saheeh al Jaamia page or number 3135. Concluded the ruling of the Muhadith (scholar of hadeeth) classified the hadeeth Authentic.

(حديث مرفوع) أَنْبَأَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْجَبَّارِ بِبَغْدَادَ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ مَعِينٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَةُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ عُقْبَةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ الأَزْدِيِّ ، عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : ” يَحْرُمُ عَلَى الَّنارِ كُلُّ هَيِّنٍ لَيِّنٍ قَرِيبٍ سَهْلٍ ” . قال أَبُو حاتم رَضِيَ اللَّه عنه : الواجب على العاقل أن يتحبب إلى الناس ، بلزوم حسن الخلق ، وترك سوء الخلق ، لأن الخلق الحسن يذيب الخطايا ، كما تذيب الشمس الجليد ، وإن الخلق السيئ ليفسد العمل كما يفسد الخل العسل ، وقد تكون في الرجل أخلاق كثيرة صالحة كلها ، وخلق سيئ ، فيفسد الخلق السيئ الأخلاق الصالحة كلها . وأنشدني البغدادي : خالق الناس بخلق حسن لا تكن كلبا على الناس يهر والقهم منك ببشر ثم صن عنهم عرضك عَن كل قذر .
