Q&A by Shaykh Dr. Salih al Fawzan  about Naming Nasheeds to be Islamic .

Q: What’s titled as ‘Islamic Nasheed’, it’s said whether it’s the correct title or does it enter being haram (prohibit) singing?

A: The description of it being Islamic is wrong, the true fear is inspiring that Nasheed is Islamic. Say Nasheed only, but don’t  say it’s Islamic. That’s the position of the Sufis,that they use Nasheeds from being from a form or worshiping of Allah, the Mighty, and the Majestic. They take singing (nasheeds) from being worship, this is the path of the Sufis, and this is haram (prohibit) and false. So this is falsehood, and it’s not permissible (to take Nasheeds as worship), and like that the Hizbiyoon (partisanship , groups/sects ) they use nasheeds, and they take nasheeds the Hizbiyoon for gathering the people  together with it around them.

Concerning the people of truth they do not take Nasheeds nor do they use Nasheeds for any aims of being the deen (act of worship), just as the Sufis do.

ما يسمى بالأناشيد الإسلامية، يقول هل هي تسميةً صحيحة، أم هي داخلة في الغناء المحرم؟

الجواب:ـ وصفها بالإسلامية غلط ، مهوب صحيح ، مهيب أناشيد إسلامية ، قل أناشيد وبس، لا تقول إسلامية ، هذا عند الصوفية هم الذي يتخذون الأناشيد من العبادة لله عز وجل، يتخذون الغناء من العبادة عند الصوفية هذا حرام باطل هذا باطل ولا يجوز وكذلك يتخذها الحزبيون الأناشيد يتخذها الحزبيون ليجمعوا الناس حولهم و أما أهل الحق فلا يتخذون الأناشيد ما يتخذون الأناشيد لغرض ديني كما يتخذهُ الصوفية.
