By the Student of Knowledge, Shaykh Abdurrahman Murad هداه الله

A Prophecy…the Prophet, may Allah praise him, said:

Meaning: Before the Dajjal (Anti-Christ) emerges, there shall be a period of seven deceptive years, wherein, a truth-teller would be dismissed as a liar, and a liar would be accepted as a truth-teller…the trustworthy would dismissed as untrustworthy, and the untrustworthy would be accepted as trustworthy. In this period, the ‘Ruwaibidah’ shall speak out. The Companions, may Allah be pleased with them, asked the Prophet: “Who are the Ruwaibidah?” He said: “A Fuwaisiq who speaks about public affairs or of matters in the public interest.” (Sahih Da’la’il an-Nobowah)

The prophet used the word ‘Fuwaisiq’, which is the diminished form of the arabic word ‘Faasiq’…which indicates that an absolutely unworthy, ignorant, arrogant person would assume the mantle of knowledge…and pretend to be what he is not. He would speak in matters that concern the Ummah…whether this be on a local or more broad level.
In another narration, it is mentioned:

قال الرجل التافه يتكلم في أمر العامة
Meaning: A worthless man (i.e. an ignorant man) who will speak in matters that pertain to the Ummah.

Subhanallah…isn’t this the case today? It would seem, we are close to, if not within these seven! We ask Allah to protect us from all evil, and to keep the evil of all those who are evil from us. Ameen
