Q&A If we do not Memorize the Quran but Act upon it are we from Ahlu-lQuran, Shaykh Dr. Saleh al Fawzan

Question:

We are female students, we’re memorizing and we’re reviewing the Quran since close to ten years.  But I  and some of the girls who are students with me have not memorized the Quran ever by heart. Are we consider to be those who Kitimaat (finish) the Quran and from the people of the Quran, and people of distinction (specialize) to the Quran?

Answer:

Ahlu-lQuran, the people of the Quran they are those who work with the Quran,  they act upon it. Not those who are memorizing (and memorized) it only, those who memorize it and act with it or those who act upon it and if they did not memorize it for they are from Ahul -lQuran. All who acts upon the Quran and he is from the people of Quran same as he who memorized the Quran or the person who did not memorize it. Concerning he who memorized the Quran while he does not act upon it, for this he is not from the Ahul -lQuran (the people of Quran).
