Q & A by Shaykh Salih bin Fawzan bin Abdullah al Fawzan

Question: What is the most prefered forms of worship which  a slave can get close to his Lord and it written for him as a good deeds and rewards?

Answer:

Allah the Most High said in Hadeeth al Qudsee: ” and that which makes my slave get close with a thing which is most beloved to Me, is from what  is made obligatory upon him.

So the things which is obligatory (faraaid) it’s most beloved to Allah the Majestic, and the Most High. And that which is also most beloved to him is from the Nawafil (optional acts of all forms of worship), and the optional acts of worship and that optional forms of worship is a supplement to it.

“My slave don’t stop getting close except with nawafi (the optional forms of worship) until I love him” .

Just as in a hadeeth it say first is the Faraaid (obligatory acts of worship) then the Nawafi ( the optional forms of worship which is a supplement to it) .
