Question:

If a Muslim organization helps the homeless (people who are Muslims and non-Muslims) is it Halal or Haram?

Answer:

It is of piety and an act of worship to show kindness to those who are in need and to alleviate their poverty. Allah, the Exalted, says: “He does not forbid you to deal kindly and justly with anyone who has not fought you on account of your faith or driven you out of your homes: God loves the just.” (60:8)
There are many texts that speak of… this, both in the Qur’an and Sunnah.
That said, being kind and showing goodness is not just restricted to human beings…its an act that goes beyond the realm of humankind to that of the animal kingdom as well!
