All the praises is for Allah the Lord of the Worlds and peace and blessings be upon His Chosen Messenger Muhammad and upon his family and his companions all of them.

Question:

How come men can wear platinum, when its value is more than gold , and men cant wear gold?

Answer:

If you recall in the course…I repeated no less than 20 times, ‘We hear and we obey’ سمعنا وأطعنا

When it comes to the commandments of Allah and His Prophet, may Allah praise him…we accept them wholeheartedly. Of course, we do have the right to seek the ‘Hikmah’ or wisdom behind the command, but at times a command given, is what I like to call a ‘testing node’. Certain commands/prohibitions are instated simply to see how you respond to God’s command. This is what we call ‘Hukm Ta’abodi’.

So why are men allowed to wear platinum, and not gold…I don’t think I can convince you with any ‘scientific’ reason, although there are reasons mentioned by the scholars…but I find the best response is that this is a command of God, and a pious Muslim will say سمعنا واطعنا

May Allah bless us all! Ameen
