Q&A If a Fish Lives in a Pond Near to a Chicken Farm and the Fish Feed off the Chicken Droppings would it be Consider Jal’laalah

All the praises is for Allah the Lord of the Worlds and peace and blessings be upon His Chosen Messenger Muhammad and upon his family and his companions all of them.

Question:

If a fish lives in a pond near to a chicken farm and the fish feed off the chicken droppings would it be considered Jal’laalah?
Answer:

The term Jal’laalah, is used to identify animals who their entire feed, or the majority of it is filth. If this is the case, it is then unlawful for a Muslim to consume those animals. The Prophet, may Allah praise him, forbade consuming such things…and nowadays with the technological advancements that we enjoy, the harm behind such animals can be seen.
The Prophet, may Allah praise him, said: “Do not harm yourselves or let that harm extend to others.”
Now, back to the question…it would seem to me more of a hypothetical question than one based in reality…I mean who would intentionally take the bird droppings and feed them to fish!
But for arguments sake, let’s say this somehow happened…if this can be confirmed (with actual evidence and not mere doubt) then one should avoid that fish until it is purified…the method to purify it would be to feed it for three days or more with non-filthy/pure feed.
