You’re Never too Old to Learn Something New – Arabic!
This course is my favorite, it’s design by me for older adults who believe they are to old to learn Arabic. This is something that’s only in one’s mind. For over years I have developed methods for older adults to learn. That focus on:
- memory
- time management
- phonics of Arabic
- writing skills
- listening skills
- target area of learning towards Quran and religious studies
I have title my Arabic Course: ArabiCoursEasy for a reason. Majority of my students areOlder Adults. Who issues related to learning Arabic, is their memory and time management. When they feel they are to old to learn due their weak memory, my response is:
Memory is related to reparation, which is how the long term memory works, as in whatever we learn we must review it within 72 hours, for it to enter the long term memory. So our issue is not our memory but our time management system of learning which we need to maintain the proper reparation to review learnt lessons in its proper time outside the classroom. That is all to it!
Then it said to them:
Do you ever review A and B and C ?
they answer:
” NO!”
Yes you do every time your read a sign, a book, and use it in writing and speaking, you do review them and this is also part of learning by reparation, this is what you must do to learn Arabic; it’s by reparation.
Many older adults students issues are related to time, due to work, family, life style and motivation. Many times they do not know how to manage their time. How to take a little time like 15 minutes and make it powerful learning and reviewing session. My teaching method and course is how to use their time outside the lesson. Keeping up with how they review outside of the lesson. That is how simple it is! This is why I title my course ArabiCoursEasy. Many older adults who study Arabic also, do not know how to make proper assessments with themselves in choosing the proper curriculum to learn Arabic. Much so, they carry many incorrect myths of learning Arabic, that they was told, our made up though their own conclusions that are not accurate. Many cases they come with books and curriculum that is above their level, or it does not focus on their goals, and the reason why they are learning Arabic. They do not know how to make assessments with themselves. So my course makes assessments for them by asking questions, like why do you want to learn Arabic. A student might answer and say “to understand Quran”, so we make an assessment for him to understand Quran. Many times the student may say he wants to learn and understand the Quran and he studying a book about Arabic that does not cover any vocabulary or grammar structure related to the Quran. So feel free to contact me and do not forget to ask about the special course for older adults. Thank you for dealing with ArabiCoursEasy.
