Question:
If a husband allows his wife to wear pants and she wants to wear skirts because she thinks its more Islamic but the husband doesn’t like it…should she try to convince him and if he still doesn’t allow it, should she oppose or leave it?
Answer: The question is not all that clear…so let me break it down…
a. If the husband demands that his wife dress up for him in the privacy of their home, to wear tights…jeans in the confines of their private environment, she should oblige…but a word to the husbands, don’t become foolish in relation to this!
b. If the issue is that the husband wants to display his wife in public ‘trophy wife’ style, this is absolutely Haram! Sisters, if your husband asks of you that you do Haram in public or private…you should openly defy this, for the Prophet, may Allah praise him, said:
“There is no obedience to a person when it comes to disobeying Allah!” We ask Allah to protect us from the Fitan…Ameen!
