Patience

All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of all the worlds and peace and blessing be upon His Messenger Muhammad and his family and his companions and those who follow him after.

This is a excerpt taken from the commentary of ‘ Three Fundamentals Principles’ by Shaykh Ubaid Jabree may Allah preserve him Ameen.

…Patience linguistic: الحبس Habis [mean to hold back] , and to Prevent. And religious usage: it is to hold back the tongue pertain to ungratefulness and discontent and one self about worries, and extremes that concerns to hit the cheeks and to strike ones chest, and towards that is ugly hypocrisy to Patience. And with people of shariah [ the scholars] there three sections:

First: patience upon obedience to Allah until one like it completely or close to complete.
For Allah say in Quran: ” So Fear Allah as much as you able to ” سورة التغابن 16 it is obligatory to love the obedience to Allah completely even if his obedience is weak or close to correct obedience.

Second: patience upon disobedient to Allah until he is save from it.

Third: patience upon the Decree of Allah.

And patience is from Iman ,it is the head position of the body, and indeed Allah mention this eight times in the Quran and if you look to the conditions of the Prophets and the Pious people you will find that they had the most patience from the people upon teaching Deen and teaching the slaves toward what is correct.

As-Shaykh  Salih bin Fawzan bin Abdillah al Fawzan said in the sharh of alQaid -al-Raba’ah:

“Ignorance does not mean no knowledge, because the ignorant do not take [from knowledge] but ignorance here is the opposite of patience. And all who disobey Allah for he is ignorant which means weak in patience and weak in understanding and inhumane. Indeed he be an Alim [ learnt person] but he is ignorant from another point, from the point of him being without Patiences and that is not being establish in an affair. ”

that the end of the Quote from the Shaykh may Allah reward him Ameen.
