The first Khutbah.

All the praise due to Allah, the Lord of all the worlds [ from mankind and jinn and all that exists ], He who made the Muslims  Beloved Brothers to each other. And I bear witness that there is no god except Allah Alone without associating partners in worship with Him. The True and Only King. And I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and His Messenger the truthful and trustworthy one may Allah send upon him peace and blessing and upon his family and his companions and those who follow after them, send him all of the best greetings. O people fear Allah the Most High and know that Allah made the Believers beloved brothers from the first of the creation to the last of creation.

”  Our Lord! forgive us and those of our brethren who had precedence of us in faith, and do not allow any spite to remain in our hearts towards those who believe, our Lord! surely Thou art Kind, Merciful.”

 , Al-Hashr 59:10

Allah the Sublime and the Most High send down in  Surah al Hujraat explaining in it all what corrupts that love and He prohibits  and warns concerning about it.

He the Glorified and Most High says:

 يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِن جَاءَكُمْ فَاسِقٌ بِنَبَإٍ فَتَبَيَّنُوا أَن تُصِيبُوا قَوْمًا بِجَهَالَةٍ فَتُصْبِحُوا عَلَىٰ مَا فَعَلْتُمْ نَادِمِينَ

“O you who believe! If a Fasiq (liar – evil person) comes to you with any news, verify it, lest you should harm people in ignorance, and afterward you become regretful for what you have done.”

Hurjaat verse: 6

That when the Fasiq [ liar – evil person] come to you,  the Fasiq he is one you do not take from him his testimony [ his account -his story] nor do you take from him his information because the reason he is contrary/ weak in his Deen.  He commits the major sin and this is the Fasiq, and also he carries with him hearsay and he carries with him information that are lies.  He come with gossip  and spread it between the Muslims.  He cause division between them . This is a Fasiq and the Fasiq he abandon  the obedience of Allah , and the rejecter of the obedience of Allah  which command  love and unity , and coming together.  Allah’s saying “verify it”:  it means that you prove it , to be either false or true. So that if it to be false then refute it , and that if it to be true do not spread it. Nor do you broad cast it rather yet you deal with it in the best of manners.  You conceal it, and stay with the love between the Muslims. Close the door to fitnah.  Restrain the slander of the Fasquoon [ those who are corrupted]. This saying ‘lest you should harm’  which mean ‘ lest you should harm people in ignorance’.  You are ignorant of this information and you take it  from the fasquoon and you afflict the one who is innocent.  ‘ You become regretful for what you have done’.  From what you did by afflicting the innocent , base upon the information of the liar and tale carrier, then you are remorseful  about what took place from you.  There no benefit in this regret after what took place because the hearts if it ponder from what is in it, the hearts it has hatred because ,one is not able to reject concerning what happen to it, from the lies and hearsay.  No one have control of that except Allah  Glorified is Him and the Most High then say in Quran:

يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لا يَسْخَرْ قَومٌ مِنْ قَوْمٍ عَسَى أَنْ يَكُونُوا خَيْراً مِنْهُمْ وَلا نِسَاءٌ مِنْ نِسَاءٍ عَسَى أَنْ يَكُنَّ خَيْراً مِنْهُنَّ

O you who believe! Let not a group scoff at another group, it may be that the latter are better than the former. Nor let (some) women scoff at other women, it may be that the latter are better than the former. Nor defame one another, nor insult one another by nicknames. How bad is it to insult one’s brother after having Faith [i.e. to call your Muslim brother (a faithful believer) as: “O sinner”, or “O wicked”]. And whosoever does not repent, then such are indeed Zalimun (wrong-doers, etc.).

AL Hurjaat verse  11

This mockery of people [ to scoff one another ], to belittle  people.  This what cause hatred and dispraise and disdain the other group. With that the believers have a mighty position with Allah, for it not permissible to violate this mighty position and it not permissible to scoff one another.  What Allah prohibit for the men as He also prohibit for the women. And many of the women fall into this mockery of one another. More so many of them fall into this and between them and their sisters in faith. So sisters do not take the path of mockery, and to dispraise [criticize] others.  For those who are into scoffing others.  Allah command the women just like He command the men. The women are a derivative of the men.  Because if they are righteous then her family is righteous and the society.  If they are corrupted then her family is corrupted and the society.  Because the women are the foundation which is build upon togetherness. Because the women have a weak understanding, they are effect with tales carrying and are effect with scoffing one another and dispraise.

“O you who believe! Let not a group scoff at another group”

and

“Nor let (some) women scoff at other women,”

Those that ridicule people and belittle them because what they are about.  They themselves have a big imperfection.  However in them is this insufficiency when they belittle  people.  Then Allah the Exalted and the Most High says: Because the one who being made fun off might be better then the criticizer. This is what takes place.

“Do not find fault with your own people”

Surah al Hujaraat verse: 11

Do not find fault with one another [ defame, criticize, slander etc]. This fault finding also diminish and the expression – أَنفُسَكُمْ your selves– means some of you over others [among your selves]. Because the Believer is one whole [together]. For that mankind [the Muslims in general]  do not find fault and defame himself, verily he does not defame his brother and his sister. Because the Believers are one whole like one body and one building.

“and do not find fault with your own people  nor call one another by  [ bad and belittle] nicknames”

Surah al Hujaraat: 11

الالقاب it is the plural of لَقَب [ nicknames], it is perceived with praise or dispraise so this is prohibit concerning bad name calling- like to belittle, like Bakeel cheap, and Jahil ignorant and other than that from criticism. If there is something  from mankind likeness of dispraise, so indeed cover this fault and do not bring it out.

“nor call one another by  [ bad and belittle] nicknames”

Then Allah the Exalted the Most High says:

بِئْسَ الاِسْمُ الْفُسُوقُ بَعْدَ الإِيمَانِ

How bad is it to insult one’s brother after having Faith [i.e. to call your Muslim brother (a faithful believer) as al Fusuq : “O sinner”, or “O wicked”].

al Hujaraat:11

So to throw that insult nickname Fusuq [ O sinner , or O wicked] – ‘How  bad is it to insult nickname O sinner or O wicked’ , and the Fusuq [ sinner , wicked] is the one who abandon the obedience of Allah the Mighty and the Exalted after faith [ a faithful believer]. It indicate that insult name calling negate complete Iman [ faith], it weakens Iman [faith]. The He the Exalted , the Most High says :

وَمَنْ لَمْ يَتُبْ

And whosoever does not repent,

then such are indeed Dhalimun (wrong-doers, etc.).

al Hujaraat: 11

From him repentance is an obligation ‘ And whosoever does not repent, [ from insult name calling ]then such are indeed Dhalimun (wrong-doers, etc.).’ He is name Dhalimun [ wrong doers , oppressor etc.] because a Dhalim transgress upon the people, and diminish these rights of the people by giving insulting names, diminish the rights of the people like he who  become fraudulent with the wealth of the people. This is more serious than cheating the people in wealth, or belittle their honor and their stature. To belittle with name calling is more serious affair on the people, from that of losing a thing from one’s wealth, for that reason insulting and  name calling is prohibit and calling him fusuq [ O sinner , O wicked] and weaken one’s faith. He is order to repent, and he who does not repent is a Dhalim [ oppressor , wrong doer], A Dhalim how is the final destination of the Dhalim [ oppressor, wrong doer] and Allah forbid.

And whosoever does not repent, then such are indeed Dalimun  [oppressors, wrong-doers, etc.).

al Hujaraat 11

Then He says, the Exalted the Most High:

يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اجْتَنِبُوا كَثِيراً مِنْ الظَّنِّ

“O you who believe! Avoid much suspicion; indeed some suspicions …”

al Hujaraat: 12

People are also affected with these suspicions . That you suspect evil of your brother. Originally the Believer is just and good, so you should not be suspicious,  except suspect  good nor do you suspect him of evil.

” Avoid much suspicion; indeed some suspicions are sins. “

So avoid much and for that little of this is shameful, and shameful is this sin.” Avoid much suspicion; indeed some suspicions are sins. “ So how is an abundance of suspicions it´s not sinful?! Allah forbid. Then He said the Exalted the Most High.

” And spy not”

Do not secretly follow the mistakes of the people. So do not spy on people. You shield them [and their shortcomings]. If you criticize them for a thing, you do it in private.

Concerning you who follow the mistakes of people and the events of their mistakes. For Allah prohibit that and in the hadith: ‘ Who follows the mistake of his brother, Allah follows the mistake of him and he who Allah follows his mistake He will disgrace him in front of the heads of the people to see.’

So if you follow the mistakes of the people and expose it and spread it, for indeed Allah will follow your mistakes and He knows best of [what you do], Glorified is He and the Most High, He will broadcast your dishonor acts to the people,   this is your punishment. We ask Allah for pardon.

He says :

” And spy not”

Then He says:

“neither backbite one another”

This is from the reasons for discord and the reason for differing and hatred, and backbiting! Do you realize what it is to backbite? The Prophet Sallahu wa alayhi wa salam said: “ Is to mention about your brother what he dislikes.” To backbite events about him that he dislikes from his etiquette and he is not present in that sitting. “ Is to mention about your brother what he dislikes.”  ” he said O Messenger of Allah if you see that to be in my brother [in faith] what do I say?”  he said  ” If it to be what you have said [true] then you have spoken behind his back [to backbite him], and if it not to be true then you have slandered him.”  Means you lied about him so remain quiet O My brothers concerning Gebah [to backbite] then he [the Allah’s Messenger sallahu wa alayhi wa salam] shows the evil of Gebah:

 أَيُحِبُّ أَحَدُكُمْ أَنْ يَأْكُلَ لَحْمَ أَخِيهِ مَيْتاً

“Would one of you like to eat the flesh of his dead brother?”

If you came to the funeral of the dead would you enjoy that you eat the flesh of the dead [ the one you backbite]? No one would enjoy this, he would detest it. He who backbite, he eats their flesh [of his brother in faith he backbite].

“Would one of you like to eat the flesh of his dead brother? You would hate it (so hate backbiting). And fear Allah. Verily, Allah is the One Who forgives and accepts repentance, Most Merciful.”

al Hujaraat: 12

If something takes place between the Muslims and that which take place between them is fitnah [trial] and division for indeed it is an obligation to intervene. If what took place between their fitnah was fighting, then it an obligation to be the arbitrator [ make peace between them].

“And if two parties or groups among the believers fall to fighting, then make peace between them both.”

al Hujaraat: 9

This is the resolution, first make peace and indeed Allah says the Exalted and the Most High:

وَالصُّلْحُ خَيْرٌ

” Make peace is better”

Surah Nisah: 128.

To make peace is to settle the conflict between both disputants until both parties are pleased [resolved]. And stop the conflict and discord.  In particular, if there was a weapon involved in the dispute, and blood was spilled. Indeed it is an obligation to enter [the dispute], to make peace between them and do not abandon them to fight each other. Rather we enter to rectify between both parties, with whatsoever is possible, even if we resolve it with retribution of wealth.  To make both parties accept between them [peace].

The second step, of one side, rejects to make peace. This rectification is rejected.

“But if one of them outrages against the other, then fight you (all) against the one that which outrages [that act wrongfully]..”

al Hujraat: 9

It is an obligation upon the Muslims to fight the group [that transgress] which did not accept peace with the other party.

“then fight you (all) against the one that which outrages till it complies with the Command of Allah. ”

Until he complies to the command of Allah. Which means that he returns to accept peace [between the one he was in dispute with].

 Then if it complies,

then make reconciliation between them justly,

The one who is the oppressor do what is just [right]. The one who is at fault does what is just.

then make reconciliation between them justly and be equitable. Verily! Allah loves those who are equitable.

al Hujaraat:  9

Then Allah the Exalted the Most High say:

إِنَّمَا الْمُؤْمِنُونَ إِخْوَةٌ

“The believers are nothing else than brothers (in Islamic religion)”

al Hujaraat:10

Brothers are in lineage, no. Indeed the Brotherhood to be from the corner of the world and they do not know each other but our faith [ in Islam] is all the same between them. “The believers are nothing else than brothers (in Islamic religion)”  In any place for the Believer is the brother of the Believer in any place and from any nationality. So an Arab is the brother of the non-Arab Muslim. And the White is the brother of the Black. There is no difference between the Muslims and the Believers.  In no country, no skin color, and in no kinship.  Because they are brothers together in one faith [ al Islam] between them [ one brotherhood]. This is the correct brotherhood. Concerning brothers of kinship [in lineage and tribe]. If they have a conflict with his brothers in faith, with his brother of kinship [in lineage and tribe] he rejects his brother of kinship.

Mujaldila: 22″

You will not find any people who believe in Allah and the Last Day, making friendship with those who oppose Allah and His Messenger (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم), even though they were their fathers or their sons or their brothers or their kindred (people). For such, He has written Faith in their hearts and strengthened them with Ruh (proofs, light, and true guidance) from Himself. And He will admit them to Gardens (Paradise) under which rivers flow to dwell therein (forever). Allah is pleased with them, and they with Him. They are the Party of Allah. Verily, it is the Party of Allah that will be successful.”

So the love it only with faith alone, not with desires not with prejudices, not with the racism of Jahiliya [Non-Islamic practices which either existed or were inherited from the era before the advent of the Prophet sallahu wa alayhi wa salam]. It is only which Allah bestow his slave I seek refuge in Allah from Shaitan the accused.

“O mankind! Be dutiful to your Lord, Who created you from a single person (Adam), and from him (Adam) He created his wife [Hawwa (Eve)], and from them both He created many men and women; and fear Allah through Whom you demand (your mutual rights), and (do not cut the relations of) the wombs (kinship) . Surely, Allah is Ever an All-Watcher over you.”

Nisa: 1

May Allah Bless me and you from the Mighty Quran and benefit us from the verses [of Quran], and the wise remembrance. I remind myself, and May Allah forgive me and you and all the Muslims from all sins,  may He forgive it for indeed He is all Forgiving all Merciful.

The Second Khutbah.

All praise is for Allah upon His Grace and His Perfection, and I bear witness that there no deity worthy of worship except Allah Him Alone, without associate partners in worship with Him.  And I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and His Messenger. May Allah send upon him and his family and his companions many salutations.

“O mankind! We have created you from a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes, that you may know one another. Verily, the most honorable of you with Allah is that (believer) who has At-Taqwa [i.e. he is one of the Muttaqun  ] Verily, Allah is All-Knowing, All-Aware.”

al Hujaraat: 13

He addressed all the people and after that, he addressed the Believers specifically. He addressed all the people and make it clear for them their origin. Indeed he created them from Adam and Huwwa [Eve], from male and female. Their no difference from one another over another in pedigree [ lineage, kinship, status ].  All of them are from Bani [ tribe] Adam Indeed the bounty is with Islam and Iman [faith] and it the best quality.

Verily, the most honorable of you with Allah is that (believer) who has At-Taqwa

So he does not get close to Allah except with Taqwa [ Fear of Allah, the obedience of Allah and His commandments]. He does not get close to Allah with is pedigree [ lineage, status etc] even if he is a high class in lineage.

“Then, when the Trumpet is blown, there will be no kinship among them that Day, nor will they ask of one another. Then, those whose scales (of good deeds) are heavy, they are the successful. And those whose scales (of good deeds) are light, they are those who lose their own selves, in Hell will they abide.”

al Muminun 101 – 103

We ask Allah for pardon. So pedigree [lineage and  status] indeed is in this world only. To become acquainted with one another. Indeed you know you are from tribe of so and so for the sake of kinship [ bonding] in relationship to them [ your tribe]. For the sake of kinship [bonding] in relationship with your tribe which connects them [each tribe]. For the sake it cultivate the tribes each other knowing others from their tribes [ knowing one another from different tribes]. Concerning the direction of lineage some are high class and some are low class and this have no value with Allah Glorified is He and the Most High:

 إِنَّ أَكْرَمَكُمْ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ أَتْقَاكُمْ

“ Verily, the most honourable of you with Allah is that (believer) who has At-Taqwa “

Al Hujaraat:13

Then, when the Trumpet is blown, there will be no kinship among them that Day, nor will they ask of one another. Then, those whose scales (of good deeds) are heavy, they are the successful. And those whose scales (of good deeds) are light, they are those who lose their own selves, in Hell will they abide. The Fire will burn their faces, and therein they will grin, with displaced lips (disfigured).”

al Muminun: 101 -104

So where is their lineages, their lineages goes and does not stay except their deeds. And it does stay except with Taqwa. Fear Allah , Glorified is He and the Most High.

Fear Allah, slaves of Allah and know that the best speech is the book of Allah, and the best guidance is the guidance of  Muhammad sallahu wa alayhi wa salam and the evilest of affairs is newly innovate affairs [in Islam] and all bidah [ new innovate affairs in the religion of Islam]  is astray.  Upon you is the Jam’ah [ the people of Quran and Sunnah]. Indeed Allah support is with the Jam’ah. Who is extreme for the extreme is in the fire. Allah the Most High says:

 إِنَّ اللَّهَ وَمَلائِكَتَهُ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا صَلُّوا عَلَيْهِ وَسَلِّمُوا تَسْلِيمًا

Allah sends His Salat (Graces, Honours, Blessings, Mercy) on the Prophet (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم), and also His angels (ask Allah to bless and forgive him). O you who believe! Send your Salat on (ask Allah to bless) him (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم), and (you should) greet (salute) him with the Islamic way of greeting (salutation i.e. As-Salamu ‘Alaikum ).

Al Ahzab: 56

O you who believe! Send your salutation  [ ask Allah to bless him Muhammad sallahu wa alayhi wa sallam], and you should greet [ salute] him with the best of greetings [ with is the salam’s the Islam way of greeting, assalamu alaykum].

O Allah salute him and peace be upon your slave, your Messenger our prophet Muhammad. O Allah be satisfied with the prophet’s rightly guided Khalifas and the rightly guided Imams Abu Bakr, Umar, Uthman and Ali and all the companions and the Tabeen [ those who came after the Messenger of Allah sallahu wa alayhi wa salam] and those who follow them with perfection to the day of Judgement.

O Allah cherish Islam and the Muslims. And humiliate Shirk [Polytheism] and the Mushrikoon [ the people of polytheism], and destroy the enemies of the Deen [ Islam the way of life]. And make Makkah prosperous [without conflict and war]. And the remaining of the Muslim countries in general O Lord of the worlds.

O Allah improve the government of our affairs and give them success for what they improve. And for the betterment of Islam and the Muslims.

O Allah protect all aspect of the Deen. O Allah protect the Muslims countries.

O Allah protect the Muslims countries from all evil and harm. O Allah protect us from the evil intentions against Islam and Muslims. And make it work against themselves [the evil intentions of those who against Islam and Muslims.]. Change their deceitfulness in their own slaughter and forbear us from their evil, upon you are all things able.  O slaves of Allah:

إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَأْمُرُ بِالْعَدْلِ وَالإِحْسَانِ وَإِيتَاءِ ذِي الْقُرْبَى وَيَنْهَى عَنْ الْفَحْشَاءِ وَالْمُنكَرِ وَالْبَغْيِ يَعِظُكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَذَكَّرُونَ

Verily, Allah enjoins Al-’Adl (i.e. justice and worshipping none but Allah Alone – Islamic Monotheism) and Al-Ihsan [i.e. to be patient in performing your duties to Allah, totally for Allah’s sake and in accordance with the Sunnah (legal ways) of the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم in a perfect manner], and giving (help) to kith and kin (i.e. all that Allah has ordered you to give them e.g., wealth, visiting, looking after them, or any other kind of help), and forbids Al-Fahsha’ (i.e all evil deeds, e.g. illegal sexual acts, disobedience of parents, polytheism, to tell lies, to give false witness, to kill a life without right), and Al-Munkar (i.e all that is prohibited by Islamic law: polytheism of every kind, disbelief and every kind of evil deeds), and Al-Baghy (i.e. all kinds of oppression). He admonishes you, that you may take heed.

“And fulfill the Covenant of Allah (Bai’ah: pledge for Islam) when you have covenanted, and break not the oaths after you have confirmed them – and indeed you have appointed Allah your surety. Verily! Allah knows what you do.”

An-Nahl 90-91

So remember Allah and He Allah will remember you. Have gratitude for Him and His favors and He will increase you of His favors.   And the remembrance of Allah is the greatest and Allah knows what you do.

My ending comments I translated this, because it was a good reminder for the believers, and from among the believers of alhul Quran wa Sunnah wa alJamaah, I find that today many brothers backbite, spy and look for faults, then broadcast his mishaps and mistakes have sittings to talk ill of his fellow salafi brother because he not down with his clique or he falls into an error. And dismish the rights and love of brotherhood because one disagree with his clique, and forget about what Allah says in His Noble Book. For those who have this illness I have a statement from our Noble Shaykh Abdul Azeez Ali Shaykh Mufi of Saudi :
    http://mufti.af.org.sa/node/2709

The Noble Shaykh ‘Abdul’Azeez Āli Shaykh, Mufti ofthe Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Head of the Council of Senior Scholars and the Permanent Committee for Academic Research and Edicts, warned students of knowledge against dishonouring each other and making their gatherings places of cursing, slandering, belittling and damaging reputations.

He stated this unification in ranks and word, and ensuring that what we say is good so as to seek Allāh’s Face. He also warned against disgracing and mocking people in a way which does not befit the people of Knowledge (Ahl ul-‘Ilm), what to say of others.

He indicated that some of those who attach themselves to knowledge make their gatherings of backbiting, slander, false accusations and void statements and promoting false rumours so as to curse this one and that one.

Those who do this say “this is out of Jarh wa’t-Ta’deel so we curse this scholar, criticise and critique him because he erred and opposed our manhaj, so we have to deem him as mistaken, curse him and ascribe to him things which are not from him.”

Shaykh ‘Abdul’Azeez Āli Shaykh stated “as for the issue of Jarh wa’t-Ta’deel then this is well-known, however how do I criticise my brother when he is close to me and not dead? I contact him and discuss his views with him as it is possible that what has been transmitted to me opposes the reality.” The Mufti mentioned the ayah

“O you who believe! If a Fasiq (Shaykh Salifh al Fawzan define fasiq: the Fasiq he is one you do not take from him his testimony [ his account -his story] nor do you take from him his information because the reason he is contrary/ weak in his Deen. He commits the major sin and this is the Fasiq, and also he carries with him hearsay and he carries with him information that is lies. He come with gossip and spread it between the Muslims) comes to you with any news, verify it, lest you should harm people in ignorance, and afterwards you become regretful for what you have done.”

    {al-Hujurāt (49): 6}

The Mufti described these statements as being erroneous clarifying that it is obligatory for a Muslim to discuss with his brother if an error emanates from him and explain the correct view to him so as to be rewarded in his actions. As for dishonouring him, defaming him and his reputation with others and spreading lies and accusations about him then this is a mistake and will render the person as sinful and not rewarded.

The Mufti stated: “If the ‘Ulama contact each other, co-operate and close the doors of Shaytān of occupying themselves with each other’s shortcomings then Shaytān despairs that the worshippers worship him in the Arabian Peninsula however he is pleased with causing dissension among them, meaning by: causing enmity and hatred and this is unbefitting for the common Muslims let alone the people of knowledge.”

For those who are aware about these type of events and actions and fear if you say speak up you be at fault or criticized and belittle. Allah says in Quran:

“….so fear them not, but fear Me, if you are (true) believers.”

    al Imraan 175
The Messenger of Allah sallahu wa alayhi wa salam said:

The Prophet sallahu wa alyhi wa salam said, Adhere very closely to my Sunnah and the Sunnah of the rightly guided successors after me; bite on to it with your molar teeth, and beware of the newly invented matters. Authentic; recorded by Abu Dawud and at-Tirmidthi.

A true Believer refers matters to Allah and His Prophet sallahu wa alyhi wa salam, acting in accordance with the ayah:

If you differ in anything among yourselves, refer it to Allah and His Messenger if you do believe in Allah and the Last Day, that is better and more suitable for final determination [An-Nisa 4:59]

Let there arise out of you a band of people inviting to all that is good, enjoining what is right and forbidding what is wrong [Aal Imran 3: 104].

For those who spread tales and gossip:
The Prophet sallahu wa alyhi wa salam told us about two men whom he saw being punished in their graves. One of them used to walk around spreading malicious gossip among people, and the other failed to take precautions to avoid getting urine on himself. So the latter failed to purify himself as required, and the former did something that creates enmity among people by talking, even if what he says is true.
Thus it may be noted that the one who stirs up enmity by telling lies and making false statements will be punished even more. So one of the punishment of the grave will be from carring tales which is gossip. According to the hadeeth of Samurah in Saheeh al-Bukhaari, a person who told a lie that spread far and wide was punished.

According to the hadeeth of Samurah ibn Jundub (may Allaah be pleased with him), the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:

“… We came to a man who was lying flat on his back, with another man standing over him, holding an iron hook. He put the hook in the man’s mouth and tore off that side of his face to the back (of his neck), and he tore his nose and his eye from front to back in a similar manner. Then he turned to the other side of the man’s face and did likewise. No sooner had he finished the second side but the first side was restored to its former state, then he went back and did the same thing again. I said to my two companions, ‘Subhaan Allaah! Who are these two persons?’
At the end of the hadeeth, he said concerning this one who was being punished: “is the man who goes out of his house in the morning and tells a lie that is so serious that it spreads all over the world”. Narrated by al-Bukhaari (7074).

The punishment of the grave is for sins of the heart, the eye, the ear, the mouth, the tongue, the stomach, the private parts, the hand, the foot, and the entire body.
Those who spread malicious gossip, tell lies, backbite, give false witness, slander those who are chaste and innocent, spread fitnah, promote bid’ah (innovation), say things about Allaah and His Messenger without knowledge, and speak in a reckless manner.

For those who have sitting for deframing his brother in faith here is a clear rememder:
It was narrated that Anas ibn Maalik (may Allaah be pleased with him) said:

The Prophet (sallahu wa alayhi wa salam ) said: “On the night on which I was taken on the Night Journey (Isra’), I saw men whose lips were being cut off with scissors of fire. I said: ‘Who are these, O Jibreel?’ He said: ‘These are the khateebs from among your ummah who used to enjoin righteousness on the people and forget themselves, and they used to recite the Book but they did not understand.’” Narrated by Ahmad, 3/120; classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in al-Saheehah (291).

According to al-Bayhaqi: “On the night on which I was taken on the night Journey, I came to some people whose lips were being cut off with scissors of fire. Every time they were cut off, they were restored. I said: ‘O Jibreel who are these?’ He said: ‘The khateebs of your ummah who said what they did not do, and they recited the Book of Allaah but they did not act upon it.’” Narrated by al-Bayhaqi in Shu’ab al-Eemaan; classed as hasan by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Jaami’ (128).
